The Thomistic Institute (TI) helps students and scholars explore life’s biggest questions through the works of St. Thomas Aquinas and the Catholic intellectual tradition. The institute’s campus chapters, digital content, and lectures connect people with timeless wisdom that helps them make sense of the contemporary world.
With such a rich and intellectually complex mission, the Thomistic Institute needed help articulating it in a digestible way. They also wanted to reach more people and promote better student engagement with their programming.

Crafting their message
USDP worked with the Thomistic Institute to craft messaging that retained the intellectual complexity of their mission while making it easy for newcomers to understand. TI wanted website visitors to seamlessly navigate their diverse offerings and then follow through with mission engagement by coming to a lecture, attending a retreat, listening to a podcast, joining a campus chapter, and beyond. The new sitemap reorganized the flow of information for events, courses, retreats, campus chapters, educational programs, video, podcasts, and more. The Thomistic Institute’s message was simplified without losing its rigor, and the breadth of their deep and meaningful content was displayed in a format that was easy to access and digest.

Clear organization
TI was in a period of growth in campus chapter interest and they wanted to harness this momentum. A redesigned campus chapter page made it easier for students to sign up or open chapters of their own. USDP also laid out an upcoming events page for easy registration and reorganized TI’s online resources so visitors could begin learning immediately. USDP’s designers and developers used various platforms to build out the project including Sanity, Svelte, and Figma.

Supporting growth
USDP is excited for the Thomistic Institute’s new phase of growth and we’re thrilled to partner with them on this project. We look forward to seeing how they reach more students, faculty members, and the general public who are interested in the rich mission of the institute. We hope more people will get connected to this important work through the beauty and functionality of the new website.
