Thomas More University is serious about education. We partnered with the TMU marketing team to help them improve their brand messaging and overall digital experience. One of the first things their team and young students mention is that perspective students are sold when they visit the campus. The manageable campus size, intimate classrooms, and healthy student life sealed the deal. Our challenge was to capture that spirit and bring it to life on their website. To start, we worked closely with TMU's team to assess their old site and brainstorm methods for easier navigation, better messaging, and more impactful visuals.


Calculated Action
Thomas More came to USDP looking for help reaching more prospective students through increasing and improving their web presence. Being an execution agency, the USDP team devoted the first 20% of their efforts to improving brand strategy. After forming messaging to ensure a fully encompassing understanding of the TMU brand, our designers crafted a new brand design featuring a consistent and appealing color palette, font styles, and custom imagery. But simply delivering a unified brand image isn’t enough, you must apply it. Next came the most important part: 80% execution. The team analyzed Google Analytics and developed a target audience by studying user interactions and behaviors on the old university site. This data-driven approach became the foundation for the new website, catering to the needs and curiosity of visitors.


Organized for Simplicity
Building a website, especially for a university, includes organizing a large amount of data. Upon arriving at the new site’s home page, visitors are encouraged to narrow their search by selecting a specific call-to-action, thus streamlining the site’s topics and not overwhelming users with information they are not seeking. Throughout the site, expertly written content based on our messaging framework presents the unique attributes of TMU in a concise fashion. Likewise, simple folders offer easy accessibility to those desiring more in-depth information regarding admissions, academics, and athletics.


Results
The USDP team got results. After launch, TMU’s new site soon brought in over double the amount of visitors. Additionally, thanks to considerable time dedicated to understanding TMU's target audience, the new site received an impressive boost in SEO, inquiries, and new applications. Congratulations, SAINTS!
