How do you work with my team and other vendors?

the USDP team collaborating

A marketing partnership with USDP is a collaboration between our team and yours. You’ll have your hand on each stage of the process and there are many opportunities to give feedback.

Let’s answer some common questions about the partnership dynamic:

How do you collaborate with our internal marketing team?

If you don’t have a marketing team, we’ll act as your bench of professionals and build you a marketing strategy from scratch. If you already have an internal marketing team that wants our skills at their disposal, we’re here to help.

Our account managers will meet with your team regularly to understand what needs to be done and put together tasks that can be assigned to the USDP team. Your team will help drive the momentum by communicating your wins and your frustrations thus far. Our Account Managers will help you ideate and will offer suggestions about what direction to take. They will communicate these tasks to the broader USDP team and get back to your internal team for feedback.

What happens if we disagree on a strategy?

Healthy dialogue is part of a great working relationship. We view ourselves as your partner and if we think a project or strategy might hurt you, we’ll respectfully present data and explanations to back up our thoughts. At the end of the day, you know your business best and we highly value our clients’ opinions. We will always work to find the best solution together.

How do you balance the work between our team and USDP?

If your team can do the writing but you need a designer, we’ve got you covered. If you have a designer but you need developers and strategists, we can also help you there. When you sign on for a marketing partnership with USDP, we can fill in the gaps on your internal team. This is where your Managed Service Agreement (MSA) becomes important. Your MSA outlines USDP’s specific responsibilities and level of support when it comes to your marketing. As our relationship continues, we can create additional statements of work (SOWs) as necessary to include more projects you're dreaming about.

What kind of internal communication software do you use?

At USDP we are Google based for emails, documents, and video chat, and our Account Managers use Basecamp for assigning and keeping track of tasks. You will have your own Basecamp account where you can communicate with our team and see our progress.

Our designers use Figma to create the visuals and will give you access to offer feedback. Our content writers will present copy to you using Google docs or presentations.

Can you work alongside our existing developers?

Yes. We’re happy to work alongside any existing team members to properly execute your marketing strategy. We will compare strategy notes and support your internal team where they need it.

Can you use our existing brand book?

Yes. We’re happy to use your existing branding materials, logos, designs, and color scheme. Additionally, if you need assistance with ADA compliance or you’re looking to refresh your brand, we’re happy to add that to the SOW.

Can you work with our sales teams?

Yes. We know that sales teams have a large burden of communication and we’re happy to help support that. We will meet with all key team members to get on the same page about your audience and what they’re looking for. Collaborating on the messaging with the sales team’s input will be important for building a cohesive brand narrative and successful communication with potential customers.
