How do I get started with US Digital partners?

So you are ready to take your digital marketing to a new level?

We are excited that you are interested in working with us, but we first want to walk you through the process of getting started with us so you can feel confident about your decision.

Identifying your marketing needs

If you are reading this, then you probably have a good idea of what your marketing needs are, but if not, don’t sweat it. Figuring out your biggest challenges and opportunities is an essential, yet often difficult aspect for creating a marketing plan.

Fortunately, we have plenty of experience playing “marketing therapist”. If you are staring down a laundry list of marketing problems and don’t know where to start, our client leaders will take a look under the hood and identify the most crucial marketing needs that require immediate attention.

For more insight on what identifying your needs looks like, here are a few questions you can ask yourself:

Needs analysis questions

  • Do I have an identifiable message and a consistent brand?

  • If I continue with my current level of marketing activity, what will happen to my brand in 3 years?

  • Am I proud or embarrassed if potential customers see my website or marketing assets?

Choosing a way forward

Once we have a mutual understanding of your most pressing marketing needs, we need to then determine an arrangement for meeting them. While our customers all require our highly-customized solutions, we typically end up providing our services in one of two formats:

Option 1: Partnership

Our primary way of working with our clients is through ongoing partnership. After all, the word “partner” does take up nearly half of our logo.

Most digital marketing activities are best executed on a month-to-month basis. Digital advertising, SEO, and website support are all activities that need ongoing attention. On top of that, we have found that our best relationships occur when we can act as an extension of the client’s marketing team. This often involves pulling from the different disciplines of USDP (such as design, development, or performance marketing) to help our clients achieve their goals for that month.

Partnerships like these are flexible. One month we might be focused on assisting with a content campaign on their website. The next we might be designing material for an upcoming tradeshow. Our account managers serve as the single point of contact for our clients, and they act as the internal quarterback ensuring that all marketing goals are achieved.

Because the deliverables we provide each can vary depending on our clients needs, the main factor in determining the structure of our partnership is level of need. Again, these agreements are highly custom, but they typically fall into categories.

Do any of these sound like you?

Occasional marketing assistance

  • I want to experiment with a small performance marketing campaign or two

  • I want SEO/AIO guidance, but I can do the implementation

  • I need help coming up with content for blogs or emails

  • I need occasional support for making code changes to my website

  • I need occasional design assistance, but nothing major

A bench of experts

  • I want to be incorporating performance marking as a key part of my marketing strategy

  • I want help implementing SEO best practices on my website

  • I need a writer to create a few blog posts and emails a month

  • I have regular tasks I would like a designer to help with

  • I need regular help improving things on my website

Full integration with your marketing team

  • I’m at the point where I have enough work to hire a full time employee (or two) to help with marketing

  • Aggressive performance marketing is a key part of my marketing strategy for this year

  • I need a team researching, optimizing, and creating content to maximise my SEO

  • I need to send frequent email campaigns and have not time to come up with topics and write drafts

  • I need a team to develop and execute my content strategy

  • I have a growing design wish-list and need a designer to make it reality

  • I need many major improvements to my current website that go beyond my capability

Once we’ve found the level of support needed to meet your goals, it’s time to get to work! Your account manager will help you come up with a plan, introduce you to our team, then it’s off to the races.

Option 2: Projects

Some marketing needs are two specific to be executed as part of an ongoing partnership. Initiatives like website redesigns, brand refreshes, and company videos are typically best scoped as projects with specific deliverables and defined timelines.

When a project is appropriate we will work with you to develop a statement of work that addresses your marketing goals. For many clients, projects are often followed by an ongoing partnership to handle regular marketing needs. Clients in partnerships will also sometimes require projects when they have a specific need that exceeds their level of monthly support.
