Kroger Corporate Sitefinity Award January 2013

Philosopher George Berkeley, in his work, A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge, posed the question: “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Business owner (but certainly not accomplished Philosopher) Mark Miller poses the question: If you win an award but they never tell you, is the accolade as satisfying? We think it is!

We recently found out, quite by accident, that our Kroger Corporate Website at www.thekrogerco.com was recognized as a Sitefinity Top Five List for October 2012.

The Website of the Month Award honors the best Sitefinity websites launched in October 2012. Recognition is based on creativity, user experience and the use or application of the latest Sitefinity features and functionality. All monthly winners are automatically entered into the Sitefinity Website of the Year Contest.

The Kroger site is in very good company with recent monthly winners including: Kraft Foods, Dannon Activia, Cadillac, and many other recognizable names.

Keith Dailey, Kroger’s Director of External Corporate Communications states: “Over the years, the corporate site had become a catch-all that was cluttered and failed to communicate the Kroger story. In keeping with the Kroger retail site redesign, we wanted to create a fresh, positive experience for our customers, investors, media, and other visitors to the site.”

Mr. Dailey has also found the new site easy to update with Sitefinity. “Our team has been able to jump right in and make updates to the site. Instead of working through IT to update the site, we can edit efficiently and quickly in real time.”

We’ve found SiteFinity to be a very powerful CMS platform that gives us the ability to create great looking sites, but also the freedom and flexibility to create custom developed modules around the core CMS.
