Please welcome Kayla Brighter, our latest designer.
Bringing a fresh mind with lots of creativity to offer, Kayla Brighter is the latest designer to join the creative team here at US Digital Partners.
What’s your background?
I am a graduate of Miami University of Ohio with a major in graphic design and a minor in art history. My previous work consists of mostly print material. I had experience prior to working at USDP for Go Media, a design agency based in my hometown- Cleveland.
What is your primary role at US Digital Partners?
As an interactive designer, I have the opportunity to design what goes into web elements for different clients. From wireframing websites to creating video loops, I have a wide range of tasks that relate back to a client’s needs.
Why did you want to work at US Digital Partners?
US Digital Partners seemed like a great fit for me. One of the reasons I was drawn to the company was because they are excited to give design a focus based on who the work is affecting. We are designing for people, to benefit people, not to create work that only looks cool. (Bonus: Our work STILL looks cool!)
What do you think about your job so far?
So far, so good! I can see it is going to be a lot of hard work, but work that I can be proud to be apart of. I already know I have so much to learn and I am excited to dive in.
What do you think about the people you are working with so far?
The team is made up of the most incredible people. Everyone is so welcoming and down to earth, not to mention insanely talented. I am very proud to be working with such an awesome bunch of humans.
Do you have any particular goals for your work at USDP?
Being a recent college grad, I have a lot to learn! Acting like a sponge and being able to soak up all of the information is important for my growth as a designer. With a background stemming from print media, I am getting the chance to broaden my knowledge of web design and I hope to gain a strong understanding of how to design for web. I would also like to become better acquainted with video editing.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to travel as much as I can. I have been to Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, and all over the United States. Aside from that, I try to stay in shape by running, I eat copious amount of chocolate (which counteracts the running), and I love to keep up on my design skills outside of the computer with letterpress printing.
